2. Scan the wall: After calibration, slowly move the stud finder along the wall. If the device is shaken or lifted accidentally, it will need to be recalibrated.

3. Locate the stud: When the signal bar is full and the beep alarm is loudest, it means the center of an object has been found. Mark the location with a pencil, then switch to Metal Scan mode to determine if it is a metal object or a stud.
