Whether you're hanging pictures, putting up shelves, or starting an addition, knowing where the studs are in a wall can be extremely helpful. A quality stud finder can make the difference between a successful DIY home project and a disaster, which is why it's an important tool to have.
The JAXWQ stud finder uses upgraded smart sensors that can sense density changes behind the wall and locate the stud center with great accuracy. This means you won't have to worry about drilling multiple error holes in the wall when installing a TV bracket, shelving unit, or even just some coat hooks.
To use the AC mode, first hold the tool in the air and press the ON/OFF button to turn it on, then select the AC or Metal mode. Press the Calibrate button to start the calibration - the decreasing bars will disappear, and a beep will indicate the process is complete. Release the scan button, then place the whole device against the wall and slowly slide it across the surface. The location with the highest AC indication (most middle bars on the screen) is where you should mark. If it's a strong target, the top arrow will show, and a steady beep will sound. Reverse direction and mark where the bars peak - the midpoint between the two marks is the live AC wiring center.
This stud locator has three scan modes: StudScan, DeepScan, and Metal Scan. DeepScan is a higher sensitivity mode for walls with extra layers. Always start with the 0.5in or 1in StudScan mode to minimize false positives. After detecting an object's center, use Metal Scan to determine if it's a wood stud, metal stud, or pipe.
The JAXWQ wall detector can locate metal studs in all three modes, as it looks for density changes, not just a particular material. The Wire Warning detection indicates the presence of live, unshielded electrical wiring up to 2 inches deep, providing an important safety feature.
Calibrate the tool before each scan by pressing and holding the calibration button. Then, release the button and slowly move the stud finder along the wall. When the signal bar is full and the beep is loudest, you've found the center of an object. Mark it, switch to Metal Scan mode to test if it's metal, and if not, you've found a stud.
This wall stud finder is accurate, fast, and easy to use, with a bright, backlit display showing the detected elements. Its multiple scan modes, audio alerts, and comprehensive display make it a valuable tool for professionals, homeowners, and DIY enthusiasts alike. It's the perfect gift for anyone tackling home improvement projects.
